I thought it would allow us all to get to know each other a bit better by revealing bits of what we do now and then. What have you all been up to lately? Witchy, crafty or mundane. I'm quite keen on us all building a steady community here ^^
Recently I've been working on a new thoughtform as part of my chaos witchcraft, to help me get into cosmic/storm/hedge/death witchcraft (no idea what to focus on yet). I'm still developing her and looking for names as well. I've decided to try and draw her in my sketchbook to get a better idea of her personality - sometimes these things seem to manifest themselves!
Also, it's full moon tonight (21 May). Any plans?

Today I'm spending time with my younger brothers. For the full moon I might keep it simple and do a tarot reading and a extra special bath. Tuesday I'm going down to my in-laws to spend time with them. My husband's cousin is going to do my hair. We will also probably go shooting at the gun range, go 4wheeling and bring our son to walk at the cannal and play at a park, he turned 1 iin April his birthday is the day after mine, we are both Aries lol

I've been struggling with an extended episode of depression and anxiety, so haven't done much witchery until the last couple of days. The stress has been rather high at home with one of my girls getting into trouble with the law and my wife being overwhelmed at work. So a couple days ago, while I was on a peak, I did a working to try to de-escalate the emotions around here and help my wife with her job stress. It seems to have worked fairly well.
Yesterday I had dinner with my pagan meetup group, which helped me reach another peak (been way too many valleys lately).
For the full moon I'm going to do a reading and see what I can do to further improve the situation around here. See what I can let go of. Also looking at doing a jar spell (never done one other than a banishing) to help slow my emotional rollercoaster down.
On the waning moon I plan to do a tandem spell with a witch friend out in Illinois. More on that later...
Oh and today I'm presenting a close friend, who I consider a brother, with a Mjolnir pendant like the one I wear. He's interested in Asatru but doesn't feel he's "worthy" of the Norse Gods' favor. I've checked and of course he is - in fact one already favors him. I cleansed his pendant and on Beltane did a twin-fires ritual for protection for him.

paganhick, feel better I hope everything works out with your family! ravenwhitewitch, wooo family time! nice! I think I should do a tarot reading too, though I'm sure my deck will want to smack me in the face I've been slacking off on.. everything askele, thoughtforms are awesome, I've tried to work on some too! Over time one has gone wild, bit me and I had to "reset" it, and another just.. dissipated when I was too busy and tired to complete and maintain it. Would you mind sharing how you maintain yours? Have you ever re-purposed old thoughtforms?

Hey Drift! I maintain mine largely through communication, talking to them. I also create scenarios. Like, what would this thoughtform do in this situation? If they saw someone that needed help, if they were lost in the forest and met a stranger, if they were at work confronted by a rude client. Scenarios can involve the host as well. Basically I like to build on my thoughtforms' histories and backstories - it is all made up but it helps a great deal to reinforce their personality and/or abilities.
Have I repurposed old thoughtforms, hmm... Not really, I've only ever expanded on their character, changed them around, created different timelines for them or different versions of their personality. I've found it's important to 'update' them now and then (if you have long-term ones)
Most of my thoughtforms are mood/personality-based. Instead of using them to aid me in witchcraft I do something that probably isn't done very much - I use thoughtforms - servitors, specifically to achieve mastery over my emotions. If I'm anxious, I call upon a calm, rational servitor. If I'm feeling lethargic and moody, I summon a practical, positive and excitable servitor. If I'm afraid or facing something new, I call upon a fearless, courageous servitor to work alongside me and 'charge' me.
And before you go off trying to do all that, I should warn you that mood-based servitors are a bit fickle, and it's very difficult to get them to do the job properly. Took me 5 years so far and I still feel like a rookie sometimes! (so create responsibly, lol)

(Despite the fact that we're talking on skype, I'm still going to post here) I just finished painting my room (going for the witchy aesthetic? ) so I have to wait for it to dry now before I can move my stuff back in. I'm looking up how to make macramé plant pot hangers so that I can keep more plants in my room without overcrowding them! I have a biology exam on Thursday which I am totally unprepared for but I've kind of given up (i.e I've come to the realisation that A-Levels were the wrong decision for me). I have a psychiatric appointment tomorrow which I am sooooooo not looking forward to because I stopped taking my medication a few weeks ago and they're going to be mega angry when I tell them. So I have that to look forward to. On the whole, I haven't done very much witchy stuff, I've meditated and spent time with my tarot deck, but it's been a busy month so I can't wait until exams are no longer taking over my life!

(Saame)
After giving up on finding the pestle for the mortar, I used one of my pebbles and spent about half an hour grinding eggshells with no idea of what I'm gonna use them for. I also picked some lemon balm leaves and left them in the conservatory to dry, and a twig of rosemary. I've been planning on writing a modern day one shot of Jane, my witch thoughtform who mainly serves as my motivation and inspiration to practice witchcraft

I've been doing a lot of pondering and thinking lately about what direction I wanted to take my witchcraft and finally got signs and approval from the spirits and deities that I work with to move ahead with my plans to start moving away from some of the more traditional witchcraft I've been doing and forging my own system within Space and Pop Culture magic! It's rather terrifying starting over pretty much from scratch spell and correspondences but I'm really excited to see where it takes me!

Woke up at 4am to do a cleansing on the house. Way too much negativity still floating around.
Had to chase off a particular entity that likes to come back and screw with me occasionally. Something my father either conjured up himself or got conjured after him. Dad was way into baneful magick and had some enemies. Anyway, ol dad passed away so now I gotta deal with it.

Hey paganhick and Kris I have pretty much zero experience in communicating with spirits and so on. I use Jane who I mentioned earlier to temporarily switch to a different mindset that allows me to believe in the existence of entities (Chaos magicky thing that I do) but without her I'm a strong skeptic/atheist and find it difficult to believe in the supernatural. How do you... 'do' it? And how do you know they're there and causing trouble? Is it a feeling or something?
All the witches I know talk about spirits like it's a regular thing but I've never had any experiences that made me think "that's probably a spirit". Would you tell me about them?
In other news, I was woken up by the rain this morning and felt instantly energised by it. It was surprising but a really good feeling. So I hurried downstairs and put out some large mixing bowls to collect rainwater - barefoot, still in my pajamas. Felt great though xD - and now I have more than I need. What I'd really love is a huge thunderstorm, though. Haven't had those in a while.

'do' it? And how do you know they're there and causing trouble? h I started out communicating with mine via pendulum and as went on could do it with less need for the visual feedback. If I'm in a place where I can, I still like to use the pendulum because at certain times, when I'm in an anxiety or depression episode, my thoughts can be irrational - and it hasn't failed me. Using the pendulum is similar to a ouija board in that you have to vet the entity you're communicating with. That takes time and thought. After I started communicating with my primary spirit, I asked the question whether he was light or dark oriented. The answer was light. My next question was "if you were aligned to darkness, would you tell me?" The answer was "no." If it had been yes, I would have known otherwise. But that was early on...my method changed later. I taught my daughter how to use the pendulum so she could speak with her guide. The first thing I had her do, before even "calibrating" for yes or no movements, was hold it in her right hand and state "only beings aligned to the light may communicate with me through this medium" as a simple warding affirmation. When she started speaking with her guide, I vetted her through my own guide to ensure my daughter wasn't being played by a negative energy. I learned my guide's name by using a pendulum chart, and use a "call name" that I can share with others - because when I was young I was taught that you shouldn't tell anyone else the true name of your spirit. Spirits speak to people in different ways - mine are mainly through intuition, so rather than having to frame a bunch of yes/no questions I can simply state or think what I'm "getting" and they confirm or refute it by the swing of the pendulum. This has been effective many times when I was in an irrational frame of mind - they've always indicated to me when the problem was just in my head. This built trust on my part over time. I have had a negative entity show up and join the crew - I intuitively knew it was there, asked, and was confirmed (this was before I learned to make the affirmation or charm to weed them out). This was one that has plagued my family in past generations - it still comes around and I have to do a banishing to get rid of it, but it always comes back eventually. Vigilance is the key, and don't hesitate to seek out second opinions from more experienced witches to help you vet any spirits you deal with. That's how I figured things out with my dark visitor. That was a long winded answer - sorry about that.
