I'm really curious about your beliefs and opinions pertaining to evil. Evil entities? Evil forces? Evil creatures? I'd love to hear what you all have to say about evil!

"Good" and "evil" are subjective terms to me. Depends on the perspective. I see people doing what I think are evil things all the time...terrorism for example...but the people doing it think they're doing so for a greater good.
There are positive and negative polarities and, to me, they are not in conflict. They provide context and meaning to one another. If life was blissful all the time, it would have no meaning to us.
So, in the practice of magick, I feel I need to be balanced. I should be just as able to work with negative entities as well as positive. So for example, when warding, I don't deny ALL negative energies...I caveat it by saying "uninvited" energies/entities. If they serve a purpose I'll work with them, but if they start causing trouble outside the scope of that service I'll get rid of them.
I haven't done that alot, mind you - it's just my policy on it.

I agree with paganhick in that good and evil are subjective, just like right and wrong. They cannot exist without each other. If there was no evil, we would have nothing to compare good with and would not be able to fully understand what good is.
Furthermore, it's difficult and kind of pointless to label things as good and evil. It seems ignorant to me, when even the simplest of things can actually be very complex. A person/entity/whatever can be, for most of the time, a good person, but to label them as good would ignore anything 'evil' they have done. It's the same with any social label, really, very few things, especially when it concerns actions (and I think only people can do good/evil things) can be encompassed by just one word. It's like, judging a person in a very reductionist way.
Take for example a person who has just committed a crime. If we were to examine their actions, then, superficially, they are evil. But that person may have had good intentions. Maybe they stole money so they can afford expensive medicine/treatment for a loved one, maybe they've been bullied and put down all their lives, got in with the wrong crowd and did something bad like shoplifting due to peer pressure, or felt it was their only chance to be accepted by the group. People can do horrible things while believing they are doing the right thing.
It doesn't change what they did, but when you really get deep into a situation it becomes more and more difficult to firmly say someone or something is truly good or evil.
