So, in a (very) short discussion about names, I had the idea to search up what mine meant, and I thought, "why don't we have some sort of 'forum game' on our names?"
It can be a nickname you've been called (@mel), a name you feel closely aligned with, or your actual name! Whatever floats your boat!
As for me...
Monika is the German variant of Monica.
It means "advisor," or "to warn; advise."
Of course, Monika isn't my real name, but it is one that I feel very close with, and actually get people to call me. As for my real name....
Madeline, the origins are English/France. It means "tall tower."

My first name is Shane, which the Anglicized version of Sean, which is the Irish form if John. It means "gift if God" or "graced by God," depending on who's interpreting it.
I've gone by the nickname Hickory for almost 30 years. That came about when my platoon Sergeant, who was from Barbados, had difficulty pronouncing my last name - so because I was from Tennessee, he called me Hickory after "Old Hickory," Andrew Jackson.

My real name, Jonathan, means gift of God, as it comes from the Hebrew language. My user names that I use for everything mrharvey928 is actually my middle name with "mr" in front of it, and that name came from my great grandfather on my mothers side who's name was Harvey. The 928 is my birthday. Lastly my one and only best friend calls me mousy, somehow the book if you give a mouse a cookie came up, so she was the cookie and I was the mouse, but instead of milk, it was tea, because I have an extremely strong passion for tea.

My real name is Mary, which is Hebrew for "wished for child", "rebellion", "bitter" and I think that explains a lot about me. Moon is short for the name I was given when I went into the astral realm, and while I will keep the full name private (names have power), the short form is what I go by on almost all my social media and is the name I give to people who I meet as friends. My girlfriend knows my birth name but calls me Moon unless it's really serious.

Leah: "From the Hebrew name לֵאָה (Le'ah) which was probably derived from the Hebrew word לְאָה (le'ah) meaning "weary". Alternatively it might derive from a Chaldean name meaning "mistress" or "ruler" in Akkadian"
I much prefer the second one, though I guess I can be a low energy/laid back sort of person And 'Askele' is derived from 'askel' which is Finnish for 'step' or 'pace'.

I go by "Meli" when dealing with witchy stuff, in part because it helps me keep positivity in mind and in part because it reminds me I'm not infallible. Several years ago, I was trying to decide on a new email, and my partner told me I should use "meleth nîn", which is Sindarin (Tolkien low-Elvish) for "my love." I, being a giant dork, misspelled it as "melithen". Since then, though, it's become my handle in a lot of places and is basically a part of me that makes me smile. When I was deciding on a name to use for magic, I decided that "Meli" was close enough sounding to my real name while also having these extra layers of meaning.

Estelle means Morning Star (But usually people just say it means Star)
Which is fitting for me, because I was always way more drawn to the stars then I was to the moon!

Shayna is my real name and means "beautiful" in Yiddish.
Maria is my middle name and this is what I found:
"Origin of the name Maria: Latin form of Mary, which is derived from the Hebrew Miryām, a name of debated meaning. Many believe it to mean "sea of bitterness" or "sea of sorrow." However, some sources cite the alternative definitions of "rebellion," "wished-for child," and "mistress or lady of the sea.""
Now Elm is my Druid / Witch name, which was actually given to me. By whom I cannot say. I personally think my spirit guide (she has three names I switch between) gave it to me while I was spending time on contemplating what it should be. I was going to go with something completely different but 'elm' kept popping in my head for no reason! Eventually I got so annoyed I just gave in and said, "Fine, Elm. I'm Elm!" Then it stopped. I knew I didn't bestow on myself, but I've grown to love it. The only part of my name I chose was 'Dealande' which, I read somewhere was the way to say 'butterfly' or 'fairy'... yet to be honest it is lost on me now and it is simply a surname and nothing more. But it is me.
