Hello! I'm Meli (becomingthecrone on Tumblr), an eclectic witch and Hellenic Revivalist. I've been practicing for four or five years, so I tend to be a bit quiet about offering my opinions unless it's something I've actively experienced before since I still consider myself fairly new. I grew up on mythology and fairy tales, which had a definite impact on my academic field of choice -- folkloristic anthropology and archaeology; in turn, my academic foundations have informed a lot of my craft.
Most of my witchy work is in kitchen witchery, herbalism, and energy work, although I've started to develop my divination a bit more over the past year or so. I'm curse-positive, though I tend to not have a lot of need for it, personally. I also make a lot of devotional and witchy crafts, from wands to candles to cloth (weaving and embroidery for sigils, etc.)
My religious stuff tends to be separate from my magic, but in case there is interest, I keep devotion to Persephone, Dionysus, and Aesclepius in particular. I started veiling about six months ago as a devotional act, and it's been going pretty well. I also have very loose interactions with Loki, but I don't consider myself Lokean.
In everyday life, I am an academic counselor who works with high school students on the college application process in addition to the above-mentioned anthropology. (My current ethnographic work is focused on religion in gaming sub-cultures; specifically, I'm looking at the application of in-game religion in LARP and how it interacts with and is informed by the out-of-game beliefs of players and game designers.) I love reading, tea, PC gaming, and LARPing, including all of its creative outlets like costuming, book-binding, and world-building.
