i'm always keen for 'witch tips' because it's really interesting to see some of the things that other people have found helpful, so i thought it might be good to have a witch tip thread where people can add their own tips and tricks!
~salt can kill plants and stop them from growing, so use powdered eggshells if you're creating a circle outside! ~draw sigils on clothing labels for courage, confidence, luck, etc ~if you're wanting a little extra magic in your day, carry smooth crystals in your bra (be careful they aren't rough and could hurt you) ~sleep with your tarot cards, runes, pendulum, etc to help create a bond with them
add your own!

This is a really good idea! Some of my tips are: -treat your showers/baths as cleansing rituals, visualize how both the physical and mental dirt and grime of the past day wash away under the power of the pure water pouring over you. -if it's raining outside go ahead and set your house plants out so they can be watered naturally, leave them out for as long as you see fit -start a garden! Even if you are in an apartment, a windowsill will do just fine for a small herb garden, hanging plants also work in front of Windows!

Definitely going to keep adding to this thread as I go!
- Sing/ talk to your plants! The carbon dioxide we breathe out actually feeds the plants, aside from that you can sing to the Faye folk, ask for their blessings, talk to the actual spirit of the plant and just connect with it on a different level. - If it's windy outside, imagine the air moving through your body and your aura, taking all the negativity with it, a cleansing ritual using the strong power of the air. - Never cook in a bad mood, it is believed that by stirring the pot you stir in your personal feelings and it can end up bothering everyone who eats your food. - If you 'have' to cook in a bad mood, focus your intent when stirring your food. Try focussing on the ingredients and what they mean and how they can help achieve those positive vibes you're looking for. (e.g. Salt cleanses and purifies, vanilla strengthens familial bonds.) - If you have animals, let them help cleanse the house. Bells on your animals collars for instance. It is believed a ringing bell clears the air of negative vibes, so why not have your animals clear the air as they are running around?

I have a tooooon of domestic witch tips actually! 1. I write sigils on my morning bagel before I eat it. Bonus points, I’ve actually started taking a toothpick and writing symbols in the cream cheese as well
2. I wear a lot of necklaces so I place them untangled on my altar at night to not only charge but ask that they remain untangled both around my neck and that my life stays untangled as well by wearing them
3. No time to grow roses to make rosewater? Sam’s club has beautiful bouquets of roses that are often on sale for about 10 dollars, so not only do you treat yourself to lovely flowers but you can harvest the petals afterwards. After holidays where flowers are given are a great time to stock up on flowers on the cheap. You can put the petals in jars to use later either for your altar or other uses (roses are great for just about everything)
4. When I have spare time I make tea blends and put them in jars and take them to work, each are labelled for different intents and I drink them whenever I need a boost. Plus they look pretty and smell wonderful
5. If you eat a lot of eggs like I do, save the shells. morganasnape clued me into saving the shells to make protection powders, bonus points they make great protein powders for plants to help them grow
6. I sigil the crap out of my planters and when I go to water them each night I recharge them

★Use lockets to hold spells, small crystals, sigils and herbs
★When writing spells begin with what is lacking and finish with what will resolve it
★Stir clockwise to increase/promote things (confidence, patience, focus) and counterclockwise to decrease things (anxiety, lethargy)
★Get a 'therapy plant' which is pleasant to stroke and touch for when you're sad. Good examples are dwarf baby tears and licorice plants
★If you have plants that need trimming now and then use the clippings and wrap your crystals in them to charge
★Buy candles in jars - after you've used the candle you can use the jar
★If you are secular, keep a 'guardian statue/figurine' and enchant it to protect your room or maintain a ward. You could also do this with crystal balls. Skulls are my favourite for a guardian statue, it feels like they're keeping an eye out when I'm not there

~If you're into art/craft work, try painting or drawing sigils on your work. I'm painting my bike at the minute, and i paint sigils on the frame to help with balance and safety. ~charge 'ordinary' water under the full moon and then use it to water your plants ~use different oils on your hair (not too much! you don't want your hair to be very oily) to help your hair grow strong and healthy ~if you knit, bring knitting into your craft! knit little pouches to keep crystals in, knit blankets to sit on while you meditate, you're putting your own energy and power into your work ~decorate a jar and fill it with salt or protective crystals, then keep it on a windowsill to keep negative energies out

When exiting a spiritually active place, step across the exit threshold backwards to prevent entities from following you home. This works for graveyards or other outdoor venues as well.
When taking a cleansing bath or shower, step backwards out of the tub to leave residual negative energies behind. Just be sure to hold onto something so you don't fall...that would be negative and you'd have to start all over.

Another tip I thought of, from a working I did today.
If your spell requires you to burn a piece of paper and you cannot do it outdoors, there's a way to burn it that will create minimal smoke, if any at all.
What you do is fan-fold the paper so that it makes an extended Z or accordion pattern. This should allow the paper to stand upright. Then you simply light each corner of the accordion. The paper burns down evenly and produces almost no smoke - won't set off smoke detectors.

~Make friends with local shop owners/market stall owners that sell anything related to witchcraft, they'll be more inclined to help you or maybe reserve/discount some items if you're on a tight budget (plus, it doesn't hurt to be nice)
I've made friends with a man who owns a stall at our farmer's market, so when I go and buy new crystals and incense, he always picks out a little tumblestone or a ring and pops it in the box for me, free of charge. Plus, it's always nice to have someone on hand to ask what a certain crystal is, or what type of incense is best for a certain purpose.

I mean this is pretty basic but if you're into it -set reminders for full moon and new moon on your phone, so you'll never forget it -sleep with lavender under your pillow for sweet dreams and tight sleep -when waking up after a nightmare turn your pillow over and it won't come back -keep your smaller essentials in a mint box so you can take them with you
